Les formes de l’accès au savoir
dans Le Compagnon du Tour de France

Résumé

 Dans l’optique de régénération de la société qui est celle de George Sand dans Le Compagnon du Tour de France, l’éducation et l’accès au savoir jouent un rôle essentiel. Le rituel qui accompagne l’appropriation par Pierre Huguenin de la culture rassemblée dans le cabinet d’Yseult de Villepreux marque bien la complexité de la relation qui unit l’artisan au savoir. Enthousiasme et religiosité se mêlent au rejet des signes d’appartenance à sa classe et à une forme de rêverie sentimentale. On cherchera ainsi à comparer les attitudes des protagonistes face au savoir et à évaluer les enjeux politiques liés à la mobilisation des différents savoirs, pratiques et théoriques. On s’interrogera sur les modes d’énonciation des savoirs, sur leur hiérarchisation et sur la position spécifique du narrateur s’impliquant dans ce travail d’éducation et de vulgarisation, avec les problèmes tant esthétiques qu’idéologiques qui en découlent.

The access to knowledge in Le compagnon du Tour de France

In the perspective to regenerate the society which is that of George Sand in “Le Compagnon du Tour de France”, education and the access to knowledge play an essential role. The ritual which accompanies the appropriation by Pierre Huguenin of the culture gathered in the cabinet of Yseult de Villepreux shows well the complexity of the relationship which unites the craftsman with knowledge. Enthusiasm and religiosity mingle with the rejection of the signs of membership of his class and a form of sentimental daydream. One will thus seek to compare the attitudes of the protagonists vis-a-vis knowledge and to evaluate the political stakes related to the mobilization of the different kinds of knowledge (practical and theoretical). One will wonder about the ways of enunciation of those kinds of knowledge, on their organization into a hierarchy and the specific position of the narrator involving himself in this work of education and popularization, with the problems, as well aesthetic as ideological, which result from this.
